Flea Market

The Highlands Flea Market was originally started in 1976 by the United Church Women at that time; although the UCW still plays a major role in the event, the Flea Market has grown to include a good portion of the congregation. It takes place every year on the weekend after Thanksgiving, and is one of the year's major fundraisers for the church.

It is a traditional "rummage sale" of giant proportions - the entire lower floor of the church is transformed into a bargain centre extraordinaire. Many members of the congregation have been surprised to see people wearing their old clothes or acquiring their used furniture!
