Shelter to Home, an outreach project of Highlands United Church, provides furniture and household items at no cost to people living on the North Shore who are transitioning from homelessness to independent living. They may also be those living on an extremely limited income and faced with life-altering circumstances that leave them without a place to live. We gratefully accept furniture donations from residents of North Vancouver and West Vancouver. See below if you would like to make a financial donation.  Shelter to Home also coordinates with local agencies to help our clients establish a comfortable home.

This volunteer-run project is supported by the staff and congregation of Highlands United Church and by many generous donors.

We acknowledge storage space provided by and grant support from: The Lower Lonsdale Legacy Fund, City and District of North Vancouver Community Grants, The Toskan Foundation Philanthropic Youth Initiatives, Seeds of Hope Grant, United Church Foundation and Embracing the Spirit Innovation Grant, United Church of Canada.

Please visit the Shelter to Home website to learn more about this ministry and to find out what donations are accepted.

To donate furniture and household items in good condition, call 778-331-8465. Please note that this is a message phone; kindly leave your contact information and a brief message describing the items you have to donate.  One of our volunteers will return your call within a day or two, to determine suitability and to coordinate your donation.  Items of greatest current need will be listed on our Facebook site.
